Nederlander doodgestoken in Filipijnen

Antonio Henrikus Lubki (90) is vanmorgen vroeg vermoord gevonden in zijn huis in de stad Carcar  ten zuiden van Cebu City op het eiland Cebu in de Filipijnen. Lubki was de weduwnaar van de lokale lerares Flori Cabungkal Lubki.

Het lichaam werd gevonden door Michael Cabungkal, een neef (tantezegger) van Flori. De politie trof Lubki aan met 3 steekwonden in de borst. “Tan-aw namo naa gyu’y sign of struggle ang kamatayon sa biktima kay nangabungkag man ang mga habol sa iyang katre,” (“Er waren duidelijk sporen van een worsteling op de plaats delict mede omdat het bed van het slachtoffer in grote wanorde was”), zei politiewoordvoerder Jonas Pananganan .

De achteringang van het huis van het slachtoffer was vernield en de politie denkt dat de dader hierlangs is binnengekomen en weggegaan. De politie denkt dat beroving geen motief was omdat de portemonnaie met daarin 7.000 peso (120 euro) nog op het slachtoffer werd aangetroffen.

De politie verdenkt Cecile Pobrero, de lesbische vriendin van Lubki’s schoonzuster. Zij verzorgde Lubki en had ook volmachten in zijn naam.

Update 11 januari 2009
De politie heeft Armando Navarro Lapiña (39)  de huishulp van Lubki gearresteerd toen hij de boot naar Maasin op het eiland Leyte wilde nemen. Navarro werd verdacht toen hij na de dood van Lubki plotseling verdween. Omdat de ATM kaart van Lubki op Lapiña gevonden werd houdt de politie toch weer wel rekening met roof als motief, hoewel zij nog niets wil uitsluiten. Ook Cecile Probero , de lesbische vriendin van Lubki’s schoonzus is aangehouden. Zij zorgde voor Lubki nadat de relatie tussen Lubki en zijn schoonzus was verslechterd.

Dutchman stabbed death in Carcar, Philippines

Dutchman Antonio Henrikus Lubki (90) was found dead with stabbed wounds inside the bedroom of his house in barangay Liboron, Carcar City early morning. The victim was identified as Antonio Henrikus Lubki, the widower of local schoolteacher Flori Cabungkal Lubki. SPO3 Jonas Pananganan of the Carcar City police said that Flori’s nephew Michael Cabungkal was the one who reported what happened to Lubki. Immediately, policemen responded to the incident and found Lubki dead with three stab wounds to the chest.
”Tan-aw namo naa gyu’y sign of struggle ang kamatayon sa biktima kay nangabungkag man ang mga habol sa iyang katre,” (“signs of struggle were evident at the crime scene considering that the viktim’'s bed was reportedly in disarray “) Pananganan said.

The back gate of the victim’s house was destroyed and police believe the assailant broke in through there and later escaped from there as well. Policemen recovered the victim’s wallet that still contained his IDs and P7,000 in cash, leading them to believe robbery was not the motive behind the killing. But the police have a possible suspect they are still trying to locate, they also asked Michael to go to their office to give more information because he was the one who first found the victim dead.

The possible suspect is allegedly  Cecile Pobrero, the girlfriend of the lesbian sister of Flori, who lived in the said place. When the relationship of the two turned sour Flori’s sister left and never returned. The possible suspect was made to take care of Lubki. It was also learned that the possible suspect had a special power on Lubki’s behalf.

Update 11 januari 2009: 
The house help of Antonio Henrikus Lubki was arrested at Pier 3, Cebu City while he was waiting to board a ship bound for Maasin, Southern Leyte yesterday afternoon.

Armando Navarro Lapiña, 39, became a suspect after he reportedly disappeared following the death of 90-year-old Antonio Henrikus Lubki. Lubki was found with three stab wounds in his house in barangay Liboron, Carcar early dawn the other day.

The recovery of Lubki’s ATM card from Lapiña triggered suspicions that robbery might have been the motive of the killing but police said they are not closing their doors to other angles.

Investigation revealed that Lapiña has been helping Lubki around the house for quite sometime already, nevertheless, he was not staying at the victim’s residence.

Lapiña is now detained at the Carcar City Police Station.

Aside from Lapiña, police have also placed under custody a certain Cecile Pobrero, the girlfriend of Lubki’s lesbian sister-in-law. Pobrero was reportedly the one who took care of Lubki after her relationship with the latter’s sister-in-law had turned sour.
